Calendar of events
To maintain the calendar the initial step is to enter the clubs and the events they
run, then each year simply create a new instance of the event by supplying the event
date.
- view recent and upcoming events on the home page
- view full calendar of events for a year
- view the events of a year filtered by organising club or discipline, or view those
comprising a championship
- select an alternate year to explore the archive of events, including related articles
such as results and reports
Content providers
By default the portal comes with one administrator account which can manage all
aspects of the portal. Delegate the workload by creating multiple content provider
accounts.
- for example: create content provider accounts for a representative from each discipline
or championship
- each content provider can be responsible for keeping their section's content up
to date
- content includes documents such as regulations or results, and posting such as reports
or notices
Documents and postings
Administrator and content providers can upload documents (pdf files) and add
postings (copy added to the portal).
- upload documents (pdfs) relating to the association, a championship or an event
e.g. regulations, results, route instructions
- enter postings relating to the association, a club, discipline, championship or
event e.g. notices or event reports
- assign an icon to easily identify the type of article
Posting summaries and teasers
Throughout the portal there are summaries and teasers of the recently added postings.
These lists are context sensitive.
- on each page there is a summary of the postings directly relating to its context
- on the home page teasers of the most recent of all the postings are shown
- on a club or championship page only the postings pertaining to events of these contexts
are shown
- on a discipline page the teaser list shows postings from its championships and events
- easily click through to a full summary list of postings
Event archive
There is no need to remove event details from the system. The calendar just keeps
on rolling and automatically builds an archive with event results and reports.
- on the calendar, club and discipline pages simply choose which year to view
- on the championship page choose which championship to view, e.g. "OPM Software 2006
Championship" or "AutoHub 1996/7 Winter Series"
- retrospectively add events and articles to build up the archive going back years
Club index
See a full index of member clubs complete with a link to their website, event listing
and postings.
Contact management
Build a list of contacts using the association's domain for that professional touch,
e.g. "secretary@association.com".
- add a name for that personal touch, e.g. "Bob Smith [secretary@association.com]"
- should a contact change then simply update the associated name in the system and
the redirect with your domain manager, thus ensuring constant contact email addresses
for your customers
- assign a default contact and a contact for each discipline for these to be displayed
throughout the portal
- all contacts are available on the contact page for customers to easily get in touch
flickr
Integrate you flickr photos to the home, discipline and championship pages either
a set at a time or all your photos.
- the portal displays a random selection of thumbnails of your photos
- click through to visit the association's flickr site
Pricing
- there is no setup fee, just a manageable recurring monthly fee
- this is run as a service that will continue to be developed (change requests are
welcome) ensuring it stays up to date and just how you want it
